Chateau Martinet St Emilion Grand Cru

ƒ70,00

A beautiful eighteenth-century mansion Chateau Martinet was used as a hunting lodge before it became a vineyard with one of the most respected Saint Emilion wines. Rooted in a beautiful sand-gravel soil, the wines benefit from the constant care and attention from the owners. Regularly praised at international wine fairs and competitions, the Chateau Martinet wines are blessed with a complex array of subtle flavours, accentuated with tones of delicious red currants.

This Saint Emilion Grand Cru is made from about 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc grapes.

The average age of grape the vines is 40 years old. The wine matures 15 to 18 months in oak barrels.

The bouquet shows hints of wood, vanilla and black currants. Well rounded in the mouth, with elegant tannin and very smooth.

This Saint Emilion Grand Cru pairs very well with wild poultry, red meat, lamb and creamy cheeses.
