Oude Kaap Pinotage Reserve

The wines of Oude Kaap rooted in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, where, since 1693, the steep ‘Groot Drakenstijn’ Mountains are a very important factor for the production of quality wines. Determination, preserverance, passion and innovation are as long as the spearheads of Oude Kaap and this legacy now lives on in the new generation of winemakers in this vigorous Estate. For the wines of Oude Kaap they chose the best fruit of the whole region and it also realizes that the essence of a good wine is the quality of the fruit. Through a rigorous selection of grapes and intensive contact with vintners determine the winemakers in this Estate which vats are chosen for Oude Kaap. The Pinotage is a hybrid of Pinot Noir and Cinsault, and a specialty from South-Africa. A wine with its own expressive character.

A deep red color with intense and herbal nose. In the mouth it is full, soft and round. The fruit is nice and ripe an concentrated with notes of spices. The long and powerful finish really completes the wine.

A wonderful combination with a steak, lamb, pasta with pesto and aged cheese.
