Vale Perdido Tinto V. Regional Lisboa

ƒ19,50

General information
The winery Casa Santos Lima was founded by Joaquim Santos Lima and belongs to one of the largest producers and exporters at the end of the 19th century. Nowadays, the vineyards cover over 160 hectares at the estate of this family. The location is ideal in relation to the sun and the influence of the Atlantic sea wind keeps the climate moderate. The rolling slopes contain a lot of alluvial clay and limestone soil.

Grape variety/ vinification
The surprising red ‘Vinho Regional Estremadura’ is made from Castelão (Periquita), Tinta Miúda, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, grapes that are normally used in Port. This wine shows that very tasty ‘regular’ wine can be made of these grapes.

Tasting notes
It has a beautiful, full-red colour. Pleasant wood tones in the scent of a partial ripening on oak combined with ripe fruit aromas. The wine is juicy and full in taste with power and pleasant tannin.

Food pairing
Do not drink this wine too warm. This wine is beautiful as an aperitif or table wine with a rich risotto or with meat dishes from the BBQ.
