The winery and vineyards of Feudo Arancio are located in the southwest of sunlit Sicily. To be precisely, in Sambuca di Sicilia in the province of Agrigento. The company is owned by Mezzacorona, one of Italy’s largest and leading wine companies. They wanted to bring wines to the market in the popular ‘new world’ style, searched the whole world and ended up in Sicily.
When Feudo Arancio was purchased in 2001, both the winery and vineyards were in neglected style, but extensive soil research showed that this was the soil they needed. A large scale project began. Cost or effort were spared to build a completely new, state-of-the-art winery, to install irrigation systems in all vineyards and to replant all vineyards.
The clones of the grape varieties, just like the soil, were examined and only when they were convinced they found the best, planted. Of course, this would only be able with the newest and most modern production methods and a young and dynamic team. Feudo Arancio thanks his name to a lake nearby, Arancio. The star of this company and the produced wines are rapidly rising.
