Farm Hand Chardonnay Organic

ƒ33,00

The Farm Hand wines are grown by the Grigoriou family, fourth generation wine growers, from almost 100 acres of Organic Vineyards in the Monash Valley of South Australia.

The moderate, dry climate with very low rainfall during autumn and fertile soils is perfectly suited for Organic Viticulture. The well established vines are planted widely apart for airflow to minimize disease pressure and minimal drip irrigation ensures low yielding fruit with rich flavors and varietal expressiveness.

Fruit is harvested during the early morning hours to retain freshness. The grapes are partially whole bunch pressed. The vinification is fast, in stainless steel tanks and with minimum oxygen contact to maximize fruit expression and aromas. A cool fermentation (15 to 18 degrees) takes place in stainless steel tanks before the wine matures on its lees for four months.

The wine has a light green color with fresh and fruit-driven aromas of citrus and nectarine with subtle creamy notes. The palate is also very fruity and elegant with a great purity. Stone fruits and citrus flavors build to a pleasingly round mouth-feel before being carried to a dry finish by fresh acidity. This Chardonnay is very well balanced and attractive.

This wine is a versatile companion to a wide range of seafood and white meats.
