General information
Franciacorta is the Italian version of the French Champagne. The Franciacorta area is situated in the province of Brescia. The producers were able to make Franciacorta one of the best sparkling wines of the world. All of this thanks to a great investment they did. In 1995 they were “crowned” DOCG.

Grape variety/ vinification
To get the DOCG status, a wine must be sparkling and mature in the bottle for at least 18 months. A Franciacorta Riserva must mature for even 60 months on its yeast. Besides these requirements the vinification process must take 7 more months before the wine can be marketed.

The wine is made from 80% Chardonnay grapes and 20% Pinot Noir.

Tasting notes
This wine has a beautiful golden yellow color with a full mousse and delicious sparkling bubbles. The bouquet is full with aromas of peach, apple and a hint of yeast and toast. A fresh taste, fruity and with a well balanced finish.

Food pairing
Delicious in combination with sushi, oysters and lobster.
