Jean-Claude Mas’s great-grandfather, Auguste Mas, bought the first family vineyard in 1892, when he acquired 9 hectares close to Montagnac. Over the years, the company kept on growing. In 1987, Paul Mas gives 35 hectares to his son, Jean-Claude, who created Domaines Paul Mas three years later.
